The Shamrock Shuffle is back.
It is a sure sign of spring at East Wellington Community Services when the learn to run clinic gets underway to help runners show off their “shuffle” skills at the annual Shamrock Shuffle run and walk event on May 26.
For those wanting brush up on their running and walking skills for this event, a clinic is being hosted by Janet Hern of Fit You.
There is no prerequisite to have had any running experience … all participants need is comfortable running shoes and athletic wear and a willingness to learn. The individual rate for the clinic is $70, or sign up as a family for $165.
Partial proceeds from the clinics will be donated to the Shamrock Shuffle as a donation toward EWCS and Erin District High School.
The Shamrock Shuffle on May 26 is organized in partnership with Jamie Hocken, athletics director at Erin District High School and EWCS, where proceeds raised will support programs for both organizations.
The Shuffle starts at Centre 2000 and will take place in and around Erin.
The registration fee is $40 for adults or young runners under the age of 12 can register for $10 and take part in a 1km “fun run.”
Registration for the clinic earns $10 off in the race participation.
For more information and to register, download the registration form from www.eastwellingtoncommunityservices.com or register in person at the EWCS Erin and Rockwood offices.
