Organizers of a downtown streetfest here are planning to make this Saturday “sensational.”
Starting at 7pm, Mill Street West will be blocked off for Sensational Elora’s latest venture, the Sensational Summer Streetfest.
As Mill Street is closed to traffic, it opens up for a night of food, music, entertainment, and even a movie under the stars at twilight. Starting at 7pm, local street food will be for sale.
Organizers believe that with so many treats being offered, participants will have a hard time deciding which ones to indulge. The event also provides something for the musical senses with the sounds of bands like Honey Mustard Jam, Ian Reid and Peter Mandic.
After the feast, organizers anticipate a crowd joining in for Zumba on the street.
At 10pm, attendees can lie back under the stars (or sit comfortably in chairs provided by the Elora Festival and Singers) and enjoy the free movie Under the Tuscan Sun.
The movie (starring Diane Lane as Frances) is about a San Francisco writer whose perfect life has just taken an unexpected detour. Her recent divorce has left her with terminal writer’s block and extreme depression, so she escapes to Italy where she buys a villa in the beautiful Tuscan countryside and decides to begin anew.
