ABOYNE – Sensational Elora’s annual Pumpkin Day moved to the Wellington County Museum and Archives this year, bringing pumpkins, dancing, drumming, storytelling, snakes and more to Aboyne on Oct. 12.
Event organizer Patricia Brown told the Advertiser the move from Bissell Park to the museum was to allow more space for the event.
It had a range of community sponsors, including MacKay Farms, who donated pumpkins, and Centre Wellington, Wellington County, Planet CPU and Impact Reality Group.
Municipal grants made it possible for artist Havilah Farenhorst to attend the event and draw free caricatures for attendees.
There was also free pumpkin flavoured ice cream for the first 100 kids.
Live music during the event included performances from Paul Whittaker, a local musician, and Felix, a band of Centre Wellington District High School students.
Sensational Elora is a non-profit organization that raises money through family focussed events to tackle local food insecurity.
Admission to Pumpkin Day was by donation to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
