Sensational Elora makes record donations in 2024

Officials announce new co-chairs

ELORA – The generosity and support from the community and visitors at Sensational Elora events enabled a record 2024 donation to help fight food insecurity in Centre Wellington, officials state.

Over $17,000

Celebrating a record-breaking 2024 contribution to the Centre Wellington Food Bank and Centre Wellington District High School Eats program of over $17,000 – and $188,000 total since inception – Sensational Elora thanked its sponsors, the community and visitors for their support.

New co-chair

Sensational Elora officials say they would also like to share an organizational update.

Effective Nov. 25, Kirk McElwain is no longer chair of Sensational Elora or the Sensational Elora Monster Month committee.

“On behalf of the community, the board of directors sincerely thank Kirk and Julie McElwain for their dedication and efforts leading Sensational Elora to the successful not for profit organization it is today,” officials stated.

“Their tireless efforts have helped to create the unique Sensational Elora experiences.”

Going forward, Sensational Elora will be co-chaired by Barbara Lee and Heather Miranda.

Lee will also provide interim leadership for the Monster Month Committee.

The board of directors is committed to continuing to provide fun, family-oriented events to raise funds to combat food insecurity in Centre Wellington, officials say.

Lee or Miranda can be contacted at info@sensationalelora.com.

The team at Sensational Elora wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season and looks forward to an exciting 2025, states the press release.
