MAPLETON – The local Seniors’ Centre for Excellence held a Health and Wellness Fair on Oct. 20 at the PMD Arena in Drayton. Attendees heard about current health information from a variety of health care professionals. There were also workshops available and a mini-market with local crafts and goods for sale, as well as free ice cream. There was no charge to attend the event, which included snacks and a complimentary lunch. Seniors’ Centre for Excellence program coordinator Helen Edwards said the idea was to provide older adults with health and wellness information. “We believe that older adults who are active, connected and engaged in their community, enjoy better overall health,” said Edwards.
