Senator Rob Black announces nominees for King Charles III Coronation Medal

OTTAWA – Seven Wellington County residents have been nominated for King Charles III Coronation Medals.

On Sept. 13, Ontario Senator Rob Black announced his 20 nominations for the honour, which commemorates the coronation of Charles III.

To be eligible, candidates must have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or must have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

The following are the local nominees on Black’s list, along with the category of nomination:

Russell Gordon Gammon, Fergus – Agriculture, Education, History

Susan Lorraine Harrop, Fergus – Agriculture, Arts/Culture, Education

Cathy Lennon, Rockwood – Agriculture, Community Service

Donald Wilbert Lobb, Rockwood – Agriculture, Conservation, Education

Tim May, Rockwood – Agriculture, Education/Public Awareness

Lillie Ann Morris, Rockwood – Agriculture, Conservation, Education

Christine Oldfield, Guelph – Agriculture, Community Service, Youth Development/Support

Wendy Whittaker, Rockwood – Agriculture 

Scott Wilson, Orangeville – Public Service
