Things are heating up for the second annual chili cook-off in support of the Elora Public School, to be held March 28 from 4 to 7pm at the Elora community centre.
All the proceeds are in support of the school’s playground enhancement project.
Think your chili is the best? Compete in the family-friendly event where organizers encourage chefs of all calibers from kitchens across Wellington County to provide a taste of their best chili concoctions. There is no entry fee for cooks. Just register and get cooking. Chefs or chef teams will need two crock pots, (approximately 12 quarts) of fully cooked chili.
Prizes will be awarded for: best chili recipe, most local ingredients, most imaginative and unusual recipe, and the most creatively dressed cooks, teams, or tables. Vegetarian chili and child-friendly chili is welcome, and organizers promise to have some of both for the crowd. Last year’s competition was sizzling hot and full of flavour, and the winners are coming back.

Diners at the casual event can try every recipe or try a few and cast a vote to help decide the winners. Enjoy fresh local breads, including gluten free choices.There will also be raffles to help raise money to support the school.
