PALMERSTON – SE Health, a national not-for-profit social enterprise, recently hosted Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae at the Minto Rural Health Clinic and Minto-Clifford Public School to highlight the critical community health services SE Health provides to Minto residents.
At the Minto Rural Health Centre, SE Health serves patients in a variety of capacities, “bringing hope and happiness, helping these individuals stay out of the hospital, and stay at home while they recover,” states a Nov. 9 press release from SE Health.
Regionally, SE Health employs 27 nurses locally who provide more than 2,500 visits per month, which include paediatric school visits.
At Minto-Clifford Public School, Rae attended with local SE Health nurse, Kelly Morgan, who provides almost daily paediatric care to its youngest learners.
“Children with complex care needs who require nurses look forward to the regular visit from their nurse who provides safe and effective care and a friendly face to these energetic children,” the release states.
Locally, SE Health has been a partner with the Guelph-Wellington Health Team.
“Community healthcare is an integral part of our healthcare and education system,” Rae said. “It was great to meet with SE Health, tour their location in Palmerston, and speak with our frontline healthcare workers about how we can all work to improve healthcare for those we serve.”
Home and community care remains a priority for SE Health, officials state. To explore the variety of interdisciplinary opportunities with their care team, contact Alan Morrow at alan.morrow@sehc.com.
