In 2014 the Elora Sculpture Project put on its largest exhibition to date by placing 14 sculptures throughout downtown Elora from May to October.
Organizers are now seeking submissions from artists for 2015, the fifth year of the project, which has created a number of sculpture exhibition areas that allow the public to enjoy the works while strolling though the village. The exhibited sculptures, many of which are available for purchase, essentially turn the village core into an outdoor gallery. Proceeds of all sales go directly to the artist.
The exhibition will now feature works in three size categories and sculptures may be in any media suitable for outdoor installation.
Past exhibits showed a wide range of subject matter and materials, including wood, stainless steel, clay, glass, forged steel, bronze, found objects and mixed media. The project is open to all artists working or living in Canada.
Full entry details and requirements are available at www.elora.info. Entries must be received by Feb. 15.
The Elora Sculpture Project is funded and managed by the Elora BIA with the cooperation of the Township of Centre Wellington and with additional financial support from Noecker Travel Ltd. and TD Financial Group of Elora/Fergus.
