MINTO – A community scavenger hunt to help Minto residents beat the winter blues is set to begin this week.
Town of Minto community groups Clifford Connects, Harriston Rising and All Aboard Palmerston have joined together to offer a tri-town scavenger hunt from Feb. 19 to March 7.
Participants can visit each community, Harriston, Palmerston and Clifford and follow clues to designated locations to find the 27 letters needed to solve a word scramble for a chance at the $300 grand prize. Scavengers can a chance at a $100 prize by collecting the nine letters posted around any of the three towns. Answers are to be submitted to hello@harristonrising.ca to be included in a draw for the randomly selected prize.
“Our Harriston Rising group has talked about collaborating with our sister towns for a year or so and with COVID at our door and having the capability of meeting virtually, it just made sense. Each town in Minto has their own signature event which we all travel too, so why not make a combined event as well?” said Harriston Rising event chair Kathie Butcher.
“The Scavenger Hunt idea was an idea that came to life at our first meeting … Great fun to get outside, enjoy the winter weather, test your knowledge in each town, enjoy a little competition as well,” Butcher added.
