WELLINGTON COUNTY – Santa Claus will be making an appearance in several upcoming parades throughout the county.
He will begin his journey spreading cheer in Minto, with the Harriston Santa Claus parade on Nov. 23 at 7 to 8pm.
Before the parade begins, guests can attend a family-friendly Hometown Christmas event from 2 to 4pm at Tannery Park.
Next, Santa will visit Puslinch on Nov. 24 at 2pm for the Optimist Club’s Santa Clause parade. The parade will begin at the township fire hall and finish at the Optimist Recreation Centre.
The following weekend is a busy one, with five parades, all on Nov. 30:
- Erin’s “Christmas Around the World” parade at 11am, downtown Erin;
- Elora’s parade of lights at 6:15pm, starting from Geddes Street to the downtown area;
- Grand Valley’s parade at 7pm, starting from the community centre staging area;
- Arthur’s snow globe Christmas at 7pm; and
- Clifford’s parade at 7pm, starts at the Clifford Arena and ends at the Fire Hall.
Another parade is set to occur in Mount Forest on Dec. 6 at 7pm with a theme of “’Twas the night before Christmas.”
Drayton is also hosting a Santa Claus parade on Dec. 6 at 7pm with a chance to meet Santa himself at the Drayton Fire Hall after the parade.
Palmerston, Moorefield and Fergus will have their parades on Dec. 7, all at different times.
The Fergus parade begins at 1:30pm with a theme of “Rockin around the Christmas tree”. The parade is set to start from the AO Smith parking lot in Fergus.
Moorefield’s parade is scheduled for 2pm and Palmerston is set for 7pm.
Other Santa Claus parades include:
- Guelph, Dec. 7 at 5:30pm; setting off at the Guelph Food Bank;
- Rockwood, Dec. 12 at 7pm with a theme surrounding the parade’s 32nd anniversary;
- Holstein, Dec. 14 at 1pm (non-motorized); and
- Alma, Dec. 22 at 2pm.
