BELFOUNTAIN – The Belfountain Salamander Festival celebrates 23 years on Sept. 28 from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors have an opportunity to learn about Credit Valley Conservation’s efforts to protect green space, the Jefferson salamander (an amphibian found primarily in the Niagara escarpment) and other native species.
There will be an artisans’ market, live music and local food in the hamlet. The conservation area features an electrofishing demonstration, a kids’ zone and animal exhibitions. Admission to the festival and conservation area is free. There is a parking fee at the conservation area.
