GUELPH – Two teens face aggravated assault and other charges after an incident here on the weekend that left a third teen with severe head injuries.
At about 2:30am on May 19, police were called to the area of Burns Drive and Nicklin Road in Guelph for reports of an injured male.
“Investigation revealed several teens were involved in an altercation, during which one of them was struck in the head with a weapon,” Guelph Police stated in a press release.
“An 18-year-old Rockwood male was transported to Guelph General Hospital and later transferred to a Hamilton trauma centre. Weapons including a rifle, knife and collapsible baton were seized during the investigation.”
Two Guelph males, aged 17 and 15, are charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a disguise while committing an offence and mischief under $5,000. They were held for bail hearings on May 21.
