The community is invited to attend the Rockwood Rocks Music Festival on June 3 from 10 to 2pm.
The festival will be joining the Rockwood Farmers’ Market in a joint musical showcase to welcome visitors to the new market season on the green at Rockwood’s St. John’s Anglican Church.
Visitors can stop and shop from some of the regular vendors from the Rockwood Farmers’ Market featuring local, seasonal fruit and vegetables, children’s music classes, baked goods and more.
Greek food from Dora of Tithorea, barbecue from Foodland and other snacks and drinks will be for sale.
There will also be kid friendly self-guided play areas.
Kick back and listen to music from local musicians Anika Berringer, Kevin Mak, Ian Reid, Wooden Bridge and The Funga Drummers plus an opening session starring Bianca Chambers and young voices from the community.
This is a not-for-profit studio and any donations will be used as seed money for next year as organizers say they anticipate running the event annually and growing to invite bands and acts to perform that require more staging.
Rockwood Rocks Music Festival was founded by neighbours Marion Willms, Rosslyn Bentley and Chris Barlow to:
– provide a place for friends and neighbours to connect through music;
– create an opportunity for musicians – especially young people – to perform; and
– promote a healthy community and celebrate what Rockwood means to the residents.
