Guelph-Eramosa officials will be seeking input from residents on how to stop parking on several streets that back onto the Rockwood Conservation Area.
On June 18 bylaw enforcement officer Matthew Williamson proposed prohibiting parking outright on portions of Carrol Street and Henry Street to address problems including illegal dumping and unauthorized entry into the conservation area.
But councillors, particularly Doug Breen, were wary of telling residents they could not park in front of their own homes.
Mayor Chris White said the Grand River Conservation Authority is in favour of the move, but he later admitted “there’s no easy answer” to the problem and the township does not want to “use a sledge hammer to kill a fly.”
Councillors agreed to get feedback from residents on what they want done.
I agree and I’m sure alot of others can agree that there should be no parking on that corner as it’s already a very dangerous corner and the vehicle that are parked on that corner make it even more dangerous.
