ROCKWOOD – Homeowners set to sever their residential lot in Old Rockwood assure they are not looking to tarnish the neighbourhood’s character.
Guelph/Eramosa council received a severance application from Darrell and Kelly Parsons regarding their property at 123 Gzowski Street on Feb. 20.
This prompted a discussion about the importance of maintaining the character of the single family dwelling residential neighbourhood.
The application did not specify what type of building was planned for either of the severed parcels – only that the existing building would be demolished.
But Darrell Parsons offered the Advertiser details of the couple’s plans.
“My wife and I love Rockwood and want to ensure and maintain a look and feel to the neighbourhood that I think the neighours will appreciate.”
They plan to build two single residential dwellings, he said.
“Kind of rustic Cape Cod if you can imagine. They will be beautiful.”
Parsons noted they have discussed the plan with most of the neighbours, and “believe they look forward to the removal of the old dilapidated house that is scheduled for demolition mid-March.
