Robert Munsch among storytellers at this year’s Tea ‘n Tales series

GUELPH – The Guelph Enabling Garden and the Guelph Guild of Storytellers are delighted to announce that Tea ‘n’ Tales is back for its 15th season, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Beloved author and storyteller Robert Munsch is coming out of retirement to perform over the summer.

Beginning on June 16 and continuing every Friday until Sept. 8, the Friday morning performances will feature most of the tellers from 2022, along with some new faces and their stories.

Each hour-long performance begins at 10:30am at the Guelph Enabling Garden located in Riverside Park.

There willl also be a Canada Day performance on July 1 with Robert Munsch, James Gordon and Larry Gibbs.

The tellers and their stories, along with the music of Shepherd’s Knot,  will be a great way to kick off the Rotary Club’s Canada Day celebrations in the park.

There will also be three more Saturday family-themed sessions called Under the Magic Ash.

Each of these will feature Munsch, along with other tellers.

Munsch had a stroke in 2008 that affected his memory and he hasn’t performed in public ever since. This will be a rare opportunity to see him tell his stories his own, unique  way.

While all 17 performances commence at 10:30am, every week there will be entertainment from 10am until the stories start.

Musical performers include beloved violinist Bridget Walsh, a banjo duet, a jazz trio, The Celtic band, Shepherd’s Knot, and the Silver Strummers.

Audience members are advised to arrive early to secure a good spot and enjoy the music.

Bring your own lawn chair and mug for a free Planet Bean coffee or iced tea.

As always, these performances are free, but donations are welcome.

Proceeds are used to cover costs and assist in the programmes of the Guelph Enabling Garden and the Guelph Guild of Storytellers.
