Centre Wellington has endorsed a recommendation by managing director of corporate services Wes Snarr that council authorize the tender award committee to consider a proposal to create a township-wide roads condition assessment report.
Snarr noted the 2013 capital budget included $100,000 to undertake an assessment.
He said the report would provide data about the condition of township roads – which is one of the key components in the municipality’s asset management plan.
He noted the township purchasing bylaw requires council approval for projects with an estimated value of more than $5,000.
“To enable the project to proceed in a timely manner and meet the province’s deadline for council’s asset management plan by December 2013, staff seek council’s approval for the tender award committee to consider the report of the selection committee and make the award of this proposal.”
Council authorized the recommendation.
