ABOYNE – The Wellington County Museum and Archives is getting set for several pre-Remembrance Day displays and activities.
To commemorate the contributions of the fallen – from the First World War to the Afghanistan conflict – from Wellington County, over 500 memorial markers will be placed on the front lawn at the museum and archives.
On Nov. 3 at 10:30am Legion members will participate in a public ceremony on the front lawn of the museum to honour and remember the fallen.
The annual remembrance candle lighting event will be held on Nov. 10 at 5:30pm.
Participants can place a remembrance candle on each of the markers as a tribute to the fallen.
This informal and poignant tribute takes place at dusk on Nov. 10 and the candles will remain lit until Nov. 12.
Candles will be provided by the museum and everyone is encouraged to attend.
