Local Guelph Celtic trio Relative Harmony is set to perform a fundraising concert of traditional and contemporary songs in support of St. James the Apostle Anglican Church parking lot renewal fund on June 2 at 7.30pm.
The concert will take place in the lovely and acoustically stunning confines of the nave in St. James Church at 86 Glasgow Street North in Guelph. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Relative Harmony’s feel good folk songs bring out the toe-tapping, voice raising, joyously smiling ‘folkie’ in everyone.
Rick Avery and Judy Greenhill, backbones of the children’s music scene for decades, officials state, formed the band with their son Jonathan Avery, and the result is pure musical jubilation.
Their music has a strong traditional Anglo/American, Celtic influence, and features fiddle, piano, guitar, banjo and percussion.
Their vocal harmonies are uplifting and contagious, and it’s a good thing too, because they revel in audience participation, officials state.
