CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington Township is cancelling all recreational programs and March Break camps from March 12 to 22 as it responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The local cancellations include: March Break programs slated at the Fergus sportsplex, public and drop-in skating, public and registered swims at the aquatic centre, pickleball games and fitness classes.
Third-party ice and facility rentals will happen over the weekend but on March 16, staff will reassess whether it will accept new facility rentals.
Similarly, the weight room will be open over the weekend and reassessed on Monday.
The Fergus sportsplex and Elora Community Centre will be open and scheduled performances are a go at the Fergus Grand Theatre.
The Victoria Park Senior Centre will be assessed on Monday and staff will decide if anything needs to change at that venue. Already the Active Living Show slated for March 27 at the seniors centre has been cancelled.
The township will give refunds for cancelled programs once staff re-evaluates the extent of further cancellations. For questions about programming and cancellations please contact township staff at 519-846-9691 ext. 903.
