Recreation centre elevator use has its ups and downs

Coun­cillors here are unwilling to be taken for a ride by local youth riding the elevator at the Mount Forest Sportsplex.

Wellington North councillors recently reviewed recrea­tion committee meeting minutes outlining the concerns of Mount Forest facility manager Mark Mac­Kenzie, who said there is a major problem with youths riding the elevator and activating the emergency phone.

He plans to talk with Delta Elevator to see if there is an alarm that can be installed to put a halt to the joy rides.
