Staffing costs related to sheltering travellers from recent winter storms will not be coming out of Minto’s recreation budget.
The decision followed recreation director David Stonley’s report to council about staff who had to work at providing shelter to stranded motorists because of the recent winter storms.
He said he had been asked by staff where to fit the costs of their work into the budget.
Stonley’s told them he would approach council about reallocating those costs.
Treasurer Gord Duff saw no problem with his idea, but recommended all the additional storm-related costs be included within an “emergency” category in the 2008 budget.
