RBC employees volunteer at Grove youth hubs

GUELPH – In recognition of World Mental Health Day, the Grove Youth Wellness Hubs have been thrilled to welcome RBC employees who volunteered at the Grove sites in Palmerston, Fergus and Guelph.

In Palmerston, RBC employees served a hot lunch to approximately 50 youths, and in Fergus, employees helped with painting and general maintenance.

Employees at the Guelph Woolwich Street site volunteered with food preparation and clean up for the Grove’s Apple Nacho Night.

In addition, RBC also provided $1,500 from its Communities Together Fund to each of the sites.

“Through the RBC Communities Together Fund, employees can volunteer their time and support the causes that matter to them. This year alone, we’ve supported over 2,400 projects in Canada with more than $3 million in grants,” states RBC vice president of business financial services Ali Kahnamouee in a press release.

The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs provide critical services to young people aged 12 to 26, including mental health support, educational and employment resources, and community engagement opportunities.

By volunteering, RBC employees have helped advance the Grove’s mission of helping youth navigate their challenges and achieve their full potential.

Most recently, RBC Foundation donated $100,000 to support the Youth Ambassador program at the Grove.

This initiative has enabled peer-to-peer support for approximately 32,000 youth visits annually across the Grove sites.

“We are thrilled and so thankful to have RBC and RBC Foundation’s support,” says Grove executive director Jeff Hoffman.

“The engagement and enthusiasm of RBC employees brought new energy to our sites, and their involvement made a difference in the youth’s experience.”
