RBC Canada has donated $10,000 to several areas hospitals including Groves here as a salute to nurses in their communities.
The donation will fund training programs and education opportunities that will allow nurses to provide leading-edge healthcare to the community.
As a special part of the donation, RBC announced an Adopt-a-Nurse bursary program.
Jackie Ranahan explained that nursing staff at Groves nominated fellow nurses.
Six of those were chosen for the bursary competition.
Their biographies will be placed a the Fergus RBC branch, and customers can vote for their favourite.
Katie Cheesmond, of the Fergus branch, explained the community will be invited to visit their local RBC branch to read the stories of exceptional nurses and vote for a nurse they feel most deserves a bursary for their professional development.
The winner will receive a $500 bursary for further nursing training.
Similar presentations of $10,000 were made in Palmerston for North Wellington Health Care Corporation, as well as in Orangeville.
