Rare occurance: no complaints heard during road construction season

Almost every time a road is under con­struc­tion, a councillor will hear complaints about the incon­ve­nience of it all.

The rare exception these days is in Centre Wellington Town­ship.

 Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj said at council on Monday night that the numerous con­struc­tion projects in the town­ship are provoking “excitement more than criticism.”

The mayor noted that one man had told her he had nomi­nated South River Road on a web site that collects nomina­tions for the worst roads in the province.

She told council, “I said to him, ‘Get out there right now.’ ”

South River Road recon­struction is now well underway.
