GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Metrolinx will be doing maintenance work at the Main Street rail crossing in Rockwood this weekend as part of work along the GO Transit corridor from Georgetown to Kitchener.
Construction will take place on June 26 between 6am and 8pm and on June 27 between 7am and 8pm.
Road and sidewalk access at the Main Street railway crossing will be reduced to a single lane during these times, with signs and construction personnel directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
The railway crossing will function as usual overnight on Saturday and after work is completed on Sunday.
Residents may notice noise from machinery and ambient light from the site. The use of back-up beepers will be limited to essential work only, according to a Metrolinx construction notice.
All dates are subject to change due to weather. Anyone with questions can email GuelphWellington@metrolinx.com.
