Raceway honours top performers of 2011

In celebration of the most exceptional achievements from last year’s season of harness racing, Grand River Raceway has announced the winners of the 2011 Top Performer Awards.

The award-winners were recognized with a series of special presentations on May 7 during the evenings broadcast at Grand River Raceway.

The thirteen winners include five people and eight horses:

– Top Dash-Winning Driver: Scott Coulter;

– Top Percentage Driver: Anthony MacDonald;

– Top Dash-Winning Trainer: Joe Pereira;

– Top Percentage Trainer: Richard Moreau;

– Top Owner: Edward James of SSG Stables (presented by Standardbred Canada);

– Top Claimer (Fillies & Mares): B Bar Marilyn;

– Top Claimer (Horses & Geldings): Putnam Jaguar;

– Top Rookie Trotter: Indian Lake;

– Top Rookie Pacer: Colossal Killean;

– Top Conditioned Pacer (F&M): Michelles Idea;

– Top Conditioned Pacer (H&G): Blissfull Breeze;

– Trotter of the Year: Indiana Hall; and

– Pacer of the Year: Acceptable Risk.
