Once again, the Queen’s Tavern has the blessing of council for a temporary licence extension for a special fundraising event in Arthur.
Derk Zantinge wrote to council asking for the extension for Buzz and Tom’s Charity Motorcycle Run on Aug. 22.
Over the past few years, the event has raised funds for the Groves Memorial Community Hospital building fund and the TOMA kid’s burn unit.
The TOMA Foundation is a Canadian, federally registered, incorporated not-for-profit charity that is committed to bringing concrete and material help to burned kids.
Founded in 1997, it has become a major player in the aid for burns to children.
Council had no objection to the temporary licence extension on Aug. 22 between 11am and 4pm.
