PUSLINCH – The Township of Puslinch has launched a community engagement survey at www.EngagePuslinch.ca to gain citizen feedback on the township’s 2022 proposed budget.
The budget is a strategic document that prioritizes township services and programs and citizen feedback is important in setting priorities and guiding the vision and growth of Puslinch, states a township press release.
Sixteen per cent of property taxes go to education, 66% to Wellington County, and 18% goes to the township.
“It is important to understand how your tax dollars are split when prioritizing township services and programs,” states the release from the township.
“I encourage Puslinch residents to join the local conversation regarding the township’s 2022 proposed budget,” said Mayor James Seeley.
“The comments and suggestions the township receives through Engage Puslinch are important for council to consider when setting the annual budget for the upcoming year.”
The website launched last December and has been used to collect feedback on the township’s grant application policy, user fees and charges, budget, photo competition, good news stories, the Puslinch Safe Communities program, and the Puslinch heritage register initiative.
The budget survey will be active on www.EngagePuslinch.ca until Jan. 26.
A public information meeting will also take place on Jan. 19 at 7pm to receive public comments regarding the proposed 2022 budget.
