Puslinch Township looking to host online meetings during pandemic

ABERFOYLE – Puslinch Township is the latest municipality in Wellington County taking steps to host online council meetings.

In an April 8 press release township officials stated they will take steps necessary to “adapt how we conduct business and serve our community, while protecting the safety of our staff and residents.”

Noting the Municipal Act has been amended to allow electronic meetings during emergencies, Puslinch officials say they are making every effort to ensure public participation.

The township has issued the following information for those wanting to participate:

  • meeting notices will be posted on the township website, including the date/time of meetings, the platform, and when a recording of the meeting will be available;
  • agenda material will be posted on the website about two days prior to the meeting;
  • recordings will be posted online as soon as possible;
  • written delegations will be accepted (admin@puslinch.ca) and staff will advise each delegate when they will be heard; and
  • as normal, meeting minutes will be posted online once approved by council (residents can subscribe to a council calendar to receive updates).

Puslinch officials say any changes in operations will be communicated and posted to the township’s website.
