ABERFOYLE – Puslinch residents can look forward to the return of a traditional Santa Claus Parade next month.
The Optimist Club of Puslinch announced on Oct. 13 that it will “celebrate 27 years of bringing Santa to the kids of Puslinch” with a parade in Aberfoyle on Nov. 27 at 2pm.
The 2022 parade marks the return of the traditional parade after two years of modified “drive-thru” events due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“This year’s parade will be even bigger and better,” club officials stated in a press release.
“The Optimist Club of Puslinch welcomes your participation and hope you will enjoy your parade experience and chance to see Santa.
“It’s all about the kids and bringing joy.”
Parade participants should arrive by 1pm at the township firehall on Wellington Road 34.
The parade will start an hour later, heading east on Wellington Road 34, and then south on Brock Road (Wellington Road 46) to the Optimist Recreation Centre (ORC).
Following the parade, Santa will visit with children at the ORC.
“Each child will receive a goody bag from the jolly old guy himself,” officials state, adding Optimist volunteers will provide hot chocolate and hot dogs.
Children may also bring letters to put in the mailbox. Officials say all letters with a return address will receive a written reply from Santa.
There is no cost to attend the parade but organizers are encouraging everyone to bring donations to the food bank, which will be collected along the parade route and at the ORC.
Club officials are inviting families, clubs, organizations and businesses to enter a float in the parade, which this year has the theme “Christmas Around the World”.
