PUSLINCH – All playgrounds and outdoor sports facilities and fields in Puslinch Township are now open.
“We strongly encourage individuals utilizing available facilities to adhere to all physical distancing requirements,” states a July 23 press release announcing the openings.
“Failure to do so, may result in the township being directed to close these facilities again.”
Township baseball diamonds and soccer fields can now be booked and used for games, officials noted.
The facilities were approved to reopen as part of stage three of the province’s COVID-19 reopening plan, which came into effect on July 17 and also includes restaurants and bars (indoor dining), gyms and movie theatres.
Puslinch Township playgrounds and facilities were closed four months ago, at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Municipal officials are reminding residents the following guidelines remain in place:
- washrooms, change rooms and seating areas remain closed (until Sept. 8);
- users, except for members of the same household, must maintain physical distancing of at least two metres (complaints about non-compliance can be directed to the OPP at 1-888- 310-1122); and
- gatherings must comply with provincial and public health limits.
The township has also extended to Sept. 8 the closure of the following facilities: the Puslinch Community Centre, the gymnasium at the Optimist Recreation Centre and the municipal office.
