PUSLINCH – The Township of Puslinch is extending the closure of some municipal facilities until November and reminding residents of local COVID-19 restrictions.
In a Sept. 25 press release, officials announced that all activities at Puslinch’s outdoor recreational sports facilities “are limited to a maximum of 25 individuals unless it is part of an organized, recognized league/association with all the necessary protocols, procedures and equipment in place.”
The restrictions, which apply to soccer fields, ball diamonds, and the rink at the Optimist Recreation Centre in Aberfoyle, were introduced to comply with “new provincial requirements now in place, officials say.
The township also announced the following Puslinch facilities will remain closed until Nov. 9:
- all washrooms and change rooms;
- Puslinch Community Centre;
- gymnasium at the Optimist Recreation Centre; and
- municipal office.
“The decision to extend closures and cancellations will be continually reviewed, in conjunction with direction from the province, guidance from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, and the Chief Medical Officer of Health to determine if an earlier opening is possible or if a further extension is required,” states the press release.
Puslinch officials are also reminding residents that everyone using township facilities, except for members of the same household, must stay at least two metres apart.
And all gatherings must comply with provincial and public health restrictions.
Officials say failure to follow the restrictions and guidelines could result in the closure of more facilities.
Township staff continues to serve residents by electronic means only; email services@puslinch.ca or admin@puslinch.ca or call 519-763-1226 and leave a detailed message.
