Puslinch permit values jump over $37,000

One can call it a bit of good News in Puslinch.

As CBO Robert Kelly’s monthly building report came in, council quickly noted that permit fees for March are $37,000 more than the same time period last year.

At $38,663, building permits are considerably over the $1,447 generated in March 2012.

In fact, the amount is more than all the permits from the first three months of 2012 – about $33,000.

Thus far into 2013 the township has collected fees of $71,292 on construction with an estimated value of $5,658,300.

Mayor Dennis Lever said he was uncertain he’d seen an increase of that amount for a single month. “It looks good though,” Kelly responded.

“It does indeed.” Lever said.

“It must have been a little busy in the department … a time of year everyone wants to get going.”

Kelly said last year, the influx of permits didn’t come until late April or early May.

“So … it’s not the weather,” Lever said.
