Puslinch council has approved a tender for the removal of the old public works shed on Brock Road.
Mayor Brad Whitcombe explained the township received three tenders, although one arrived after the July 31 deadline and was disqualified.
The winning tender was submitted by Claybar Contracting Inc., for $41,711.
Public Works Superintendent Jim Howlett said that figure is below the original estimate for the work, which will include the demolition and removal of the existing structure – including concrete foundation walls, footings and floor – as well as the excavation and removal of existing underground fuel tanks.
Howlett said the final cost could increase from the tender price, but that is unlikely.
