Puslinch firefighters will honour fallen former Canadian soldier on Friday

Puslinch Fire Chie Steve Goode is encouraging the local community to take part in honouring fallen former Canadian soldier John Robert Gallagher.

At the Nov. 18 Puslinch council meeting, Goode noted Gallagher, age 32 was killed in an ISIS suicide bomb attack in Syria a few weeks ago.

Gallagher will be returned home to his family in Blenheim Ontario on Nov. 20 and municipal fire departments are being asked to occupy bridges from Toronto to his hometown of Blenheim (Chatham-Kent) with a fire apparatus and uniformed staff.

There are seven overpasses in the Township of Puslinch.

Firiefighters attending will meet at the Puslinch fire station at 12:00pm. It is expected that John Gallagher entourage will pass the first Township overpass around 12:30.

Goode added "please support the Gallagher family, friends and the Canadian Military during this most difficult time."

He added all Canadians can come out and welcome John Gallagher home, by lining the bridges for a Highway of Heroes ceremony between Toronto and Blenheim Ontario, which is in southern Ontario by Windsor.
