Including benefits, per diems, expenses, seminars and mileage, the township’s top paid councillor is Susan Fielding.
The overall total 2017 council remuneration was $117,172, which is close to $2,000 above the 2016 total, yet still lower than the $121,049 spent in 2015.
The 2017 expense report shows Mayor Dennis Lever had a base salary of $23,280 with a total of $24,021 after expenses.
Councillor Susan Fielding had a base salary of $15,872, with a total of $25,926 after expenses.
Councillor Ken Roth had a base salary of $15,872 and $22,174 after expenses.
Councillor Matthew Bulmer had a base salary of $15,872 with a total of $23,048 after expenses.
Councillor John Sepulis came in with the lowest salary at $15,872, with a total of $22,003 after expenses.
Councillors accepted the report on March 7 with no discussion.
The report is to be posted online the township website, allowing residents to compare council remuneration back to 2011.
County council
In his role as Wellington County warden in 2017, Lever also had a salary of $89,989, benefits of $7,826 and $12,910 in expenses, for a total remuneration of $110,727.
