Puslinch council paid $98,582 in 2009

Puslinch council received a total of $98,582 in remuneration and ex­penses in 2009 – up 3.3%  from $95,439 in 2008.

Mayor Brad Whitcombe was paid $27,208 last year, including $23,423 in remu­neration and 3,785 in expenses.

Councillor Susan Fielding’s total was $22,548, including $20,190 in salary for regular meetings and conferences, and $2,358 in expenses.

Councillor Dick Visser took home $18,708 with $17,061 in total remuneration and $1,647 in expenses.

Councillor Matthew Bul­mer made $15,281; $14,124 in pay and $1,157 in expenses.

Councillor Don McKay was paid $14,837, with $13,258 in salary and $1,579 in expenses.

In addition to regular council meetings, the above figures included pay for councillors’ roles on the township’s adjustment, planning and advisory and recreation committees, as well as the local source water protection committee. Not in­cluded, however, are extra pay and expenses for outside boards. Last year Whitcombe re­ceived $1,531 in pay and ex­penses for his role on the board of the Grand River Conser­vation Authority. McKay received $2,132 for his role on the Hamilton Conservation Authority.

The township also paid $18,990 to 21 one other individuals on various committees, including one Halton Conser­vation Authority appointee, five members of the planning and advisory committee, five members of the heritage committee, six members of the rec­reation committee, one committee of adjustment member, two livestock valuers and one dog control officer.
