GUELPH – A COVID-19 outbreak at Birmingham Retirement Community in Mount Forest has been declared over.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health made the announcement on Nov. 30.
The outbreak, declared on Nov. 19, involved one staff case at the facility.
Current outbreaks in the WDGPH region include:
- Wellington Terrace Long-Term Care facility in Aboyne, one staff case, declared on Nov. 28;
- Village of Riverside Glen (Eramosa wing) in Guelph, one resident case, declared on Nov. 19.
- Stone Lodge Retirement Residence in Guelph, one resident case and two staff cases, declared on Nov. 18; and
- Caressant Care in Arthur, one staff case, declared on Nov. 12.
An outbreak is defined by public health officials as one or more confirmed cases of COVID-19.
An outbreak is declared over 14 days after symptoms began in the most recent case and when no other cases are suspect.
