A Rockwood man faces a weapon charge after an odd situation here last week.
Just before 7pm on June 14, Guelph police were called when two males were seen on a central Guelph walking trail stripping down bicycles.
“As police arrived, they observed them actively stripping down the bicycles and on the ground between them was a conducted energy device, commonly known as a taser,” police stated in a press release, adding an investigation into the origins of the bikes continues.
Victor Curtis Slade, 36, of Guelph, and Cian Holland, 35, of Rockwood, were charged with possession of prohibited weapon and having a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
Slade was also charged with breaching a weapons prohibition order.
The two men are to appear in Guelph court on Aug. 1.
