PUSLINCH – Bee Sweet Nature is inviting the community to its fourth annual Pollinator Festival on June 15.
Officials say it will be “a fun, educational day” and attendees will learn about gardening and landscaping with native plants.
The festival is free of charge and set to take place rain or shine from 10am to 3pm at 4182 Side Road 20 South.
There will be tours throughout the day and discussions on various topics including gardening, supporting native pollinators, and discovering trees and shrubs of southern Ontario.
“We want everyone to celebrate with us all our pollinators, from bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to bats. They are all crucial to the health of our ecosystems and vital to a healthy food chain,” said Bee Sweet Nature native plant specialist Marion Robertson.
A range of organizations will be on hand throughout the day to provide information and assistance as festival attendees embrace the world of native plant gardening to protect our native pollinators.
These orgs include:
– Hamilton Conservation Authority;
– Pollination Guelph;
– Healthy Landscapes Guelph;
– Water Farmers Guelph;
– RARE;
– Cambridge Rivers’ Edge Gardeners;
– Root Rescue;
– Hamilton Naturalists’ Club; and
– Urquhart Butterfly Garden Dundas.
There will be plants available for purchase and opportunities to preorder.
All plants will be tax free.
“We would love to see you at our pollinator festival and share our passion with you,” Robertson said.
