Police: man died in collision after killing Cambridge woman

A Cambridge man who died in a car crash in Puslinch Township on Friday is suspected of killing a woman in the city  prior to the crash.

On March 25, 2016 at about 1:05pm, emergency responders were called to a serious two-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 32 at Laird Road West in Puslinch Township.

Wellington County OPP officials say one of the drivers – Timothy Byrne, 44, of Cambridge – was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and later released.

Waterloo Regional police say the incident "led family members to attend 22-65 Glamis Road in Cambridge, where Andrea Normore, 53, was found deceased in her home."

After an investigation by detectives and homicide officers, Waterloo police announced "Normore had been killed by Timothy Byrne, prior to the collision."

Officials say Normore and Byrne knew each other for three years.

" The circumstances surrounding the death of Andrea Normore will not be provided," Waterloo police stated.

The cause of the collision in Puslinch was being investigated by the Wellington County OPP and the West Region OPP Highway Safety Division. Police asked possible witnesses  to call 1-888-310-1122.
