EDEN MILLS – On Dec. 28 at about 7am, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of two suspicious persons that appeared to be looking into parked cars in the area of Park Street and Edgewood Street here.
Police say the suspects arrived in the area in a white pickup truck that was reported stolen from Toronto.
“A witness confronted the suspects who then fled on foot into a wooded area. Police set up containment and arrested two youths a short time later,” police stated. During the investigation, police seized several credit cards.
A 16-year-old youth from Toronto was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The youth was held for a bail hearing and appeared in Guelph court.
A 14-year-old youth from Toronto was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and is to appear in Guelph youth court on Jan. 27.
