Cindy D. Tucker, 43, of Guelph, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000), driving while impaired (alcohol and drugs), driving while suspended and being an unaccompanied G1 licence holder.
She is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Back-to-school safety
WELLINGTON COUNTY – With students now back at school, Wellington County OPP officials are offering the following safety reminders for students, parents, and motorists.
Always use crosswalks and obey traffic signals when walking or biking. Look both ways before crossing the street.
Wear a properly fitted helmet when biking to protect your head in case of an accident.
Stand at least six feet away from the curb while waiting for the bus.
Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before getting on or off, and stay seated while the bus is moving.
Make sure your child knows important phone numbers, including those of parents or guardians.
Discuss what to do in case of emergencies like fires, natural disasters or lockdowns. Ensure that children know where they should go after school and who will be supervising them if not at home.
Motorists are also reminded to slow down near school zones, watch for and obey all crossing guards.
“Officers will be patrolling Wellington County roadways throughout the school year, with a focus on school zones and bus stops,” police stated in a press release.
