ERIN – Police are reminding drivers to take precautions after pickup trucks were stolen in Hillsburgh and Erin on Jan. 13.
At about 3:45am a black Ford pickup truck was stolen from Erinlea Crescent in Erin village and then at approximately 4:45am, a red Ford pickup was stolen from Barbour Drive in Hillsburgh, Wellington OPP officials say.
“In both cases, suspects arrived in a Mercedes-Benz [SUV], entered and started the vehicles without keys,” states a Jan. 18 press release.
“Surveillance captured thieves examining the dashboard vehicle identification number (VIN) … of one of the vehicles before the theft.”
