ERIN – Police are looking to identify two suspects they say were involved in a break-in and theft here last month.
Wellington County OPP officials say that at around 1:20am on Dec. 16, two men broke into a business on Erin Park Drive and damaged equipment and stole “a quantity of currency.”
“Investigators identified that the suspects had used a white van that was reported stolen from the Hamilton area,” police stated in a press release.
The OPP is asking the public for assistance to identify two subjects described as:
– heavy black male, mid 20s, wearing a brown camouflage hoodie, surgical mask, grey sweatpants, and black shoes; and
– thin, white male, mid 20s, wearing black shoes, black pants and black hoodie.

Stolen snowmobile
MOUNT FOREST – On Dec. 20, Wellington County OPP received a report of a snowmobile that had been stolen sometime overnight.
Police say a 2009 Yamaha Venture with marker 8AA652 was stolen from a business on Queen Street West in Mount Forest where it was being stored.
The snowmobile is further described as having a crack in the windshield and is missing the right side mirror.

Driver flees scene
ELORA – On Dec. 24 at about 12pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Colborne Street here.
Police say a silver SUV and a black sedan had collided, and the sedan fled the scene.
As 30-year-old driver from Georgetown was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without insurance.
The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Suspended driver
WELLINGTON NORTH – On Dec. 26 at about 2:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer stopped the driver of a black sedan on 1st Line here.
A 42-year-old resident of Hamilton was charged with driving while suspended and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Defective breaks
MAPLETON – On Dec. 28 at about 2:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer stopped the driver of a red pickup truck on Wellington Road 17 here.
A 62-year-old driver from Alma was charged with driving without a licence, driving with defective breaks and driving without insurance.
The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
