GUELPH/ERAMOSA – On Oct. 2 at about 11am, a Wellington County OPP officer pulled over a blue pickup truck on 2nd Line East here.
Alan Edward Wallace, 67, of Elora, was charged with dangerous driving and two counts of driving while a passenger under the age of 16 failed to occupy a position with a seatbelt.
He is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
‘Unsafe’ vehicle
GUELPH – On Sept. 30 at about 10am, a Wellington County OPP officer pulled over what police are calling “a significantly overloaded pickup truck” on Thistle Road here.
A 31-year-old vehicle owner from Guelph was charged with allowing an unsafe vehicle to be driven and causing a vehicle to be overloaded. The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Driver, company charged
CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Oct. 3 at about 9:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer pulled over a commercial motor vehicle on Wellington Road 18.
A 39-year-old driver from Lynden was charged with driving a commercial vehicle with an improper licence and failing to complete a daily inspection log.
An Ontario numbered company from Lynden was charged with not having a valid Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) certificate, overweight vehicle, failing to display an inspection sticker and failing to apply for permit on becoming an owner.
The driver and business are both to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Licence, plate charges
FERGUS – On Oct. 3 at about 7pm a Wellington County OPP officer pulled over a grey sedan on Churchill Crescent West here.
A 19-year-old driver from Fergus was charged with using unauthorized plates, failing to surrender a permit, failing to surrender a licence and driving without insurance.
The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.

MAPLETON – On Oct. 4 at about 9:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer pulled over a white sedan on Wellington Road 12 here.
A 62-year-old driver of no fixed address was charged with using unauthorized plates, failing to apply for a permit on becoming an owner, driving an unsafe vehicle, failing to provide identification and driving without insurance
The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
