PUSLINCH – On July 9 at about 7:30pm a break-in occurred at a business on Watson Road South here.
Someone “entered the business and stole an estimated $1,500 worth of property. This included currency and tools,” states a Wellington County OPP press release.

Hundreds of illegal plants
ARTHUR – A commercial motor vehicle driver faces multiple charges after officers allegedly located hundreds of illegal cannabis plants in a vehicle here.
On July 13, Wellington County OPP was conducting safety inspections in Arthur as part of Operation Safe Driver Week.
“A commercial motor vehicle entered the inspection area, and during the course of the inspection, approximately 300 illegal cannabis plants were located,” police stated in a press release.
Wai Sun Yeung, 58, of Stouffville, was charged with possession of more than four cannabis plants (not budding or flowering), distributing more than four cannabis plants (not budding or flowering) and driving a commercial motor vehicle without valid certification.
The accused is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Business break-in
PUSLINCH – Wellington County OPP officials are asking for the public’s help regarding a recent break-in at a business here.
On June 25 at about 4:30am, someone gained entry into the business on Brock Road South and removed one item.
The suspect is described as six feet tall, with a medium build and wearing a grey hoodie, a green shirt underneath, dark shorts, white socks and black running shoes.

Dump truck rollover
CENTRE WELLINGTON – On June 30 at about 4pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Sideroad 20 here.
Police say a dump truck had rolled over.
A 47-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with careless driving and driving a commercial motor vehicle without a proper licence. The defendant is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Three hours, four charges for motor-assisted biker
GUELPH/ERAMOSA – On July 9 at abouty 3:15pm, a Wellington County OPP member stopped the operator of a motor-assisted bicycle on Jones Baseline here.
An OPP press release stated the pedals on the bicycle “had been defeated.”
Asked for clarification, spokesperson Josh Cunningham stated this “basically” changes a motor-assisted bicycle “to a motor vehicle under the [Highway Traffic Act]” – though he did not elaborate on the alteration.
Charman Lynn Tye, 50, of Centre Wellington, was charged with driving while prohibited and driving while suspended.
Less than three hours later, at about 5:40pm, “the same operator on the same motor-assisted bicycle” was stopped by Wellington County OPP on York Road in Guelph, police stated.
Tye was charged for a second time with driving while prohibited and driving while suspended.
She is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
