Plant and bake sale in Clifford

President Vic Palmer and members of the Clifford and District Horticultural Society hosted the annual plant and bake sale on May 12 at the John Hobelman Memorial Rotary Park Pavilion in Clifford.

Members of the Society brought in a variety of plants and trees and local garden centres also participated.

Pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, muffins and caramel corn filled four tables. Rakes, hoes and other gardening tools were also sold.

During May, volunteers have approached neighbours to purchase a membership for $5. The money helps buy plants to beautify the village.

With enough memberships each year, a grant is given to the society to continue its projects.

The society’s flower show was held on May 23 at the community hall.
